       Delaware Valley Academy of Medical and Dental Assistants was founded in 1966 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has been in continuous operation since that time providing practicing physicians, dentists, hospitals and other health care facilities with highly efficient, well trained personnel.

    From 1966 to 1993 The Academy was located at Harbison Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard. In January of 1994, it was moved to its present location at the Grant Academy Shopping Center. Classes are presented in a modern, air conditioned, one story facility of approximately 8700 square feet located at the corner of Grant Avenue and Academy Road in Northeast Philadelphia. Our classrooms and laboratories are fully staffed and equipped to provide each student with the training needed to enter the Medical or Dental field with a level of confidence they will be able to rely on throughout their careers. Student services such as counseling (academic or personal), tutoring, refresher programs, transcripts, job placement assistance, and alumni organization are offered at no cost to students in good standing. Public transportation and free parking are conveniently available and the school is readily accessible to handicapped students.

    The Academy is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools and is Accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). "D.V.A." is approved for veterans training, and by the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR). Membership in organizations like the Pennsylvania Association of Private School Administrators (PAPSA) allows the staff to attend meetings and seminars targeted to specific ways of maintaining and upgrading their administrative and teaching skills along with the Medical and Dental subject seminars, some of which are given by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) which the instructors attend at various times throughout the year.

A diploma is awarded upon satisfactory completion of either program which makes "D.V.A." graduates eligible to take the certification examination to become Registered Medical Assistants (RMA) or Registered Dental Assistants (RDA).
